Meet Your 2020-21 B:CIVIC Board of Directors

The mission of B:CIVIC is to elevate business for good and that has never been more important than it is right now. During times of crisis, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) helps companies stay committed to their purpose, engage employees and uplift the communities around them. Our Board of Directors have been helping us navigate the crises, focusing our strategy and inspiring individuals and companies who want to make a difference, so we may inspire others to action in our community.

Two weeks ago, at our annual board retreat, we welcomed leaders who are committed to elevate business for good and advance CSR here in Colorado to the B:CIVIC Board of Directors, including the following officers:

  • Chair-Elect: D.J. Close, Village Giving Manager for DaVita

We welcomed five board members to our team that embody Colorado’s Civic DNA™. Meet our new board members:

Engage your company in a CEO pledge against racism. Companies pledging to Colorado Companies Uniting Against Racism are committing to develop action steps over the next six months for their companies to combat racism by listening, learning and leading more effectively as companies.

B:CIVIC will hold companies accountable and will have companies report on their actions in six months. We will publish the collective commitments to action and highlight best-in-class strategies.

The CSR peer roundtable is a peer-advisory group for professionals with B:CIVIC member companies to engage in CSR-related conversations.

To support companies in authentically inspiring CSR champions across their organizations, we developed a toolkit featuring effective strategies modeled by our members. From the hiring and onboarding process to training, wellness and leadership development incentives, to employee assistance and, of course, high-impact community investment strategies, there are relevant ideas for any company to adopt. Join a conversation on how you can leverage best practices to inspire and empower employees to grow as leaders within your organization and the communities you serve.

Deadline: The Civic 50 Colorado Assessment
Aug. 31, Midnight

The Civic 50 Colorado honorees are public and private companies with 15+ employees with Colorado operations and are selected based on four dimensions of their Colorado community engagement program, as determined by the annual survey. Companies that participate in The Civic 50 Colorado have a unique opportunity to gain recognition for their community engagement programs, take a leadership position in corporate community involvement and share their best practices with the broader business community.
