Finance, Banking and Credit Unions, Credit Unions

Since 1934, Denver Community Credit Union has been advancing financial opportunity for its members. When founded, the the credit union was called the Municipal Employees Credit Union of Denver. With only $50 pooled together, the original board met to organize the credit union under a state charter that would serve the employees of the City and County of Denver. That first board included Frank L. Hays and W.H. McNichols. Hays's son, Frank, later became the Lieutenant Governor of Colorado, while McNichols's sons, Stephen and William, became Governor of Colorado and Mayor of Denver, respectively. Since 2001, the credit union's innovative products and services, including products like Credit Builder Loans and the 5 Buck Club, have been made available to the entire community of Denver, including all who live or work in Adams, Arapahoe, Denver, and Jefferson Counties. We serve our communities with quality loans with low rates, and savings and checking products that help members effectively manage their money. Our staff provides top level service by focusing on finding solutions that help members reach further to achieve their financial goals. The credit union also positively impacts members and communities with the award-winning Clear Money Program; a financial education program.
