Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado Awards 2019 Big Shot of the Year to AT&T
AT&T Shows Commitment to Inspire, Empower and Ignite Youth Potential
DENVER, MAY 22, 2019 – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado (BBBSC) awarded B:CIVIC member, AT&T with the Corporate Partner of the Year Award at their annual Big Shots Gala.
On Saturday May 11, more than 600 guests, adorned in bright colors, fedoras and flowers, filled the Havana Nights-inspired ballroom at the Sheraton Denver Downtown to celebrate the life-changing impact of youth mentoring.
AT&T Colorado’s President, Roberta Robinette, accepted the 2019 Corporate Partner of the Year Award – sharing, “AT&T is honored to partner with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado and help launch their newest, innovative programs, Bigs with Badges and mentor2.0. Together we are removing barriers and sparking innovative solutions though mentoring to ensure Colorado youth look ahead to a bright, successful future.”
For more than 10 years, AT&T has supported BBBSC by funding grants and sponsorships, and engaging their employees as mentors, volunteers and board members. In 2018, AT&T committed $50,000 to support mentoring at BBBSC and launch its new “Bigs with Badges” program that matches at-risk children, or “Littles,” with “Bigs” in law enforcement and other first responder departments. AT&T is also a Founding Contributor of the mentor2.0 program, which ensures students have the support and skills necessary to graduate high school, prepared for college and the workforce.
