While most of us know exactly where our next meal is coming from, there are millions of people throughout the world that don’t. In fact, 795 million people don’t have enough food to lead a healthy active lifestyle. That’s approximately 1 in 9 people or 12.9% of the world’s population that are undernourished. Hunger affects a variety of communities from rural areas to suburbs to cities.
Through Janus Henderson’s Have A Heart Programme, we can make a difference in our own communities by partnering with local charities that are committed to eliminating hunger. This year in Denver, we are partnering with Metro Caring. Metro Caring is a welcoming, dignified, health-focused organization, open to everyone in the Denver metro area. Metro Caring meets people’s immediate food needs while sustainably addressing the root cause of hunger: poverty. Nutritious groceries are provided to our hungry neighbors while offering a comprehensive, wrap-around anti-poverty program so that families can break the cycle of food insecurity.
Additionally, you can “Have A Heart” by donating blood on the Bonfils Blood Mobile Monday, 26 February. Advanced registration is required. Sign up here!
