Bridgepoint Education, parent company of founding member, University of the Rockies, and member Ashford University announced on January 24, 2018 that their employees logged over 23,000 volunteer hours for 2017. Bridgepoint offers employees eight paid volunteer hours a year and hosts group volunteer events as part of its commitment to positively impacting the communities it serves. Fifty-four employees logged more than 100 hours each for the year, and in the fourth quarter alone, 34 employees logged 20 or more volunteer hours.
“Every Bridgepoint Education, Ashford University, and University of the Rockies employee who has donated their time or resources to their local communities through our organization should feel immensely proud of this accomplishment,” said Andrew Clark, president and CEO of Bridgepoint Education. “The commitment each of us has to giving back is an essential part of our mission, which our employees clearly take to heart, with over 20,000 volunteer hours logged in 2016 and now over 23,000 for 2017.”
Charities where Bridgepoint employees volunteered in 2017 include Junior Achievement, Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, San Diego Parks and Recreation, TutorMate, Valverde Elementary School, Support the Enlisted Project, Labs and More, Denver Public Schools Foundation, Associate Benevolent Society of Clinton, and the Victory Center.
