B:CIVIC Members Share Thoughts and Experiences at
Mentoring Colorado Summit
One of B:CIVIC’s goals is to raise awareness about the importance and involvement of business philanthropy and CSR in the community, and, to highlight our members’ work. On May 5th, we presented to and moderated a panel about CSR and business philanthropy. The Mentoring Colorado Summit attracted nearly 200 people from across the area, focused on youth mentoring and much more.
Three of our B:CIVIC member companies, pictured here, presented as thought-leaders at the program, including Brandon Evans, Vice President, Corporate Resource Management, RK Mechanical (seated at left); Marcia Romero, Corporate Communications Specialist (seated), CoBiz Financial; and Jerome Blackwell, Senior Performance Improvement Specialist, Kaiser Foundation (standing). They provided a depth of insight about their many programs, how they engage employees, how they contribute to social responsibility, the business case for CSR at their organization, and where their company giving or volunteering intersects with mentoring.
Thanks to these valued B:CIVIC members for participating, to David Mead for chairing the organization, and to The Mead Consulting Group, EKS&H, Guaranty Bank, and The Pelley Group for being event sponsors, and to Brad Strong, Executive Director for his work and invitation to participate at the Summit.
