Our member companies are making a positive difference in the lives of people where they do business, and we want to help shine a light on these efforts, including those of Greenwood Village-based CoBank, a B:CIVIC member.
Read about the full spectrum of CoBank’s Corporate Social Responsibility efforts in their latest CSR report, “Growing Rural America.”
CoBank, a cooperative bank serving agribusiness, rural infrastructure providers, and Farm Credit associations throughout the United States, recently partnered with its customers to provide more than $350,000 in contributions to support wildfire relief efforts in Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Rural communities in these states have been devastated by the fires which have burned hundreds of thousands of acres, destroyed property and killed livestock. In response, CoBank established a $200,000 fund to match the contributions of its customers. To date, CoBank has matched more than $175,000 in matching contributions to organizations including the Kansas Livestock Foundation, the Colorado Farm Bureau’s Disaster Relief Fund and numerous volunteer fire departments in rural communities whose resources were severely depleted by the recent fires. The bank will continue to accept matching requests until the full $200,000 fund has been exhausted.
In addition, CoBank recently announced that it will launch its annual Sharing Success program on April 1. Sharing Success is a $3 million charitable fund that matches the contributions of the bank’s eligible customers to the charities of their choice. The program is designed to spur investment in rural communities and to draw upon the local expertise of its customers to identify worthy organizations that are making a difference in rural America. Since the program’s inception in 2012, CoBank and its customers have contributed more than $25 million through Sharing Success.
