Inches of wet, heavy snow fell on the holiday morning of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service—one of Kaiser Permanente Colorado’s busiest days for volunteerism. But Kaiser Permanente Colorado employees and physicians were not easily deterred as they continued their 13-year tradition of participation, and a record 500 of them volunteered at 31 nonprofit sites across Colorado to make a difference. As a B:CIVIC member company, Kaiser Permanente is walking the talk of being civic.
“At Kaiser Permanente, we’re here to support our communities. Our mission is about improving the health of not just our members but the lives of the people in the communities we serve,” said Roland Lyon, Kaiser Permanente Colorado president.
Kaiser Permanente Stakeholder Engagement lead and B:CIVIC Board Chair, Lori Call, volunteered at the Jeffco Action Center, showing that her talents for leadership and vision as Board Chair are equally matched by her positive heart.
