Certification in Corporate Social Responsibility (CCSR) Program Opens December 2016 for applicants to the winter 2017 term
Certification in Corporate Social Responsibility (CCSR) Program was created by the CU-Boulder Leeds School of Business Center for Education on Social Responsibility (CESR), in partnership with B:CIVIC. After a successful fall 2016 launch, the program is being offered again in the 2017 winter term. Given B:CIVIC’s mission to promote business philanthropy and community involvement, we are pleased to help advance the CCSR program.
The program is particularly relevant as businesses are facing increasing attention from consumers, shareholders and employees to be more socially responsible. Companies are moving to evaluate their success on the “triple bottom line” – their impact on people and the planet, as well as making a profit. Those who lead CSR efforts within their companies are looking for best practices that can help deliver maximum value back to their companies and the communities they serve. The program is designed to address the evolving needs of CSR practitioners regardless of their role or title, and will offer meaningful knowledge to seasoned professionals as well as to those newer in their careers.
Employees of B:CIVIC member companies will be given first priority to enroll, along with a $500/person discount, so tuition is just $1,750 for the semester. Nonmember tuition is $2,250. Apply early as the program will be capped at approximately 20 participants. The program will be held Wednesday evenings from January 18 through April 26, 2017 at the Colorado Collaborative for Nonprofits in Denver, where B:CIVIC has its offices. Please indicate your initial interest by responding here. An official application must be submitted to the CESR Program by January 8th. Find further information from B:CIVIC here.
B:CIVIC’s First-Ever Summit was held September 29, 2016. The Honorable Governor John Hickenlooper launched the day, followed by national and local speakers including Diane Solinger, Global Director of GooglersGive. Members participated at a reduced registration fee.
